Our venues are art galleries, cruise ships, community centres,
schools, colleges, libraries, cruise ships, on
site at your location or in
our own studio. We conduct introductory
and intermediate level classes on digital photography,
multimedia and travel photography subjects. We will teach
classes and provide private and small group training
sessions to bring you up to speed on how to manage your
digital photography workflow and improve your
photography and digital file work flow skills on a
customized basis. We
are also available for private and small group training
sessions at your location or at our digital darkroom
studio in West Vancouver, BC. Travel, art

PROGRAM
DESCRIPTIONS (updated as of May 2006)
1.
Our Level 1 "Digital Photography for Beginners"
5- 6 hour course (full
day or 2 evening sessions) for all ages is oriented to
anyone interested in purchasing a digital camera or need
to learn how to use one. This course will teach the
basics of good photography, how to select and use your
digital camera, use memory, and manage your digital
images on your computer. Choices on how to email,
display, edit and print digital images will be reviewed.
Learn how to prepare simple digital slide shows. Bring
your digital camera, questions and camera manual. Digital projection and
multimedia slides shows will educate, inspire and
entertain.
2.
Our Level 2 "Intermediate Digital Photography"
5 - 6 hour course (Full day or
2 evening sessions) course is for all ages who
have used a digital cameras and have some knowledge of photography.
Learn
how to use additional digital camera features and improve the
creation, display and management of your digital
images. A demonstration
and review of software tools (Windows Explorer, ProShow
Gold, ACDSee, Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS, and
others) for image management and display will improve
your workflow, productivity. Digital projection and
multimedia slides shows will educate, inspire and
entertain.

Ourall levels "Travel Photography
-Tips & Techniques" 5-6 hour course
(Full day or 2 evening sessions) is for all travelers to
any locations, near or far, and reviews methods of
taking and showing travel photographs that both wow and
entertain. Learn simple tricks and techniques from an
experienced trekker who has traveled to over 50
countries. Learn how the digital photography revolution
has affected travel photography and what and how to pack
photographically speaking. Digital projection and
multimedia slides shows will educate, inspire and
entertain.

Hands-On
Digital Photography Workshop and Fieldtrip for
Beginners
Thus
2 part workshop is for novice or beginner
digital camera owners. In part 1 learn how to use
more of your SLR or point and shoot digital camera
features by live demonstration and learn how
to take better pictures. Participate in an evening
field trip to capture scenic, close-up
and people images in beautiful Ambleside. In
part 2 constructive critique of images taken, use of
natural light and pop-up flash techniques and
methods of cropping for better
composition, correcting exposure & color and cloning
will be covered. This class will be limited to 20
people to ensure opportunities for Q &A and
hands-on assistance. Bring your camera,
manual and accessories.
5.
Digital Photography Workshop
and Field trip for Enthusiasts
Thus
2 part workshop is for enthusiast digital
camera owners. In part 1 learn how to the more
advanced features of your SLR or point and shoot
digital camera features by live demonstration and learn
how to take better pictures. Participate in an evening
field trip to capture scenic, close-up and
people images in beautiful Ambleside. In part 2
there will be a constructive critique of images
taken, use of light, reflectors camera
flash techniques and methods of image editing
using layers, batch processing and artistic effects.
This class will be limited to 20 people to ensure
opportunities for Q &A and hands-on assistance. Bring
your camera, manual and accessories
6. Digital
Image Editing and Sharing Techniques
Learn
the techniques and magic of editing and sharing your
digital photographs in two evening sessions from pro
photographer David Smith of Image by Interface (www.imagebyinterface.com) The
first session includes basic editing principals and
techniques and very fun cool tricks using Adobe
Photoshop Elements, Adobe Photoshop/Bridge, Windows
Vista, Picasa and typical camera software. The
second session deals with the design and production of
audiovisual slide shows, audio editing and output
choices using Photodex ProShow, Adobe Photoshop
Elements, Windows Vista and Microsoft PowerPoint.
7.
Digital Photography Lighting Techniques Workshop
Thus
2 part workshop is for all digital camera owners.
In part 1 learn the characteristics of light and
colour and camera and software setup and how
to create stunning images from that knowledge. Learn
and how to take better images using available light
and artificial light sources. Learn basic flash,
portable strobe and simple studio lighting techniques
through equipment demonstration and using your
own camera. Image correction and software editing
techniques to correct lighting problems will be
reviewed. Bring prints or digital files in Part 2 for
critique and review. This class will be limited to 20
people to ensure opportunities for Q &A and
hands-on assistance. Bring your camera, flash,
manual and accessories
8. Our all levels "Preparation
of Multimedia Slide Shows"
2 1/2 hour course reviews software and methods of
producing your own multimedia slides shows with sound for PC, DVD
or Web Site use. Digital projection and
multimedia slides shows will educate, inspire and
entertain.
9. DIGITAL
IMAGING FOR THE ARTS AND CULTURE COMMUNITY
A 3 hour review of digital photography for all artists
and easy multimedia techniques for preparing slide shows
that wow your audience, customer or funding source.

Unique
Adventures in the Greek Islands & the Turkish Coast
- A Modern Odyssey for
all levels.
Join adventure travelers and photographers, David and
Anna Smith, as they present a multi-media evening on
their recent (Fall 2005) and unique adventures in
the Greek Islands and on the Turkish Coast. This modern
odyssey will thrill and inspire world travelers, artists
and 'armchair travelers'. This 2 - 2/1/2 hour multimedia
presentation will educate, inspire and entertain you.
11. Digital
Image Management and Presentation Methods for the Business Community is
a s 3.5 hour presentation which reviews how the digital
photography revolution and
new digital image management solutions makes the use of
digital photography and imaging easy and useful for
small and medium size businesses to develop,
communicate, and share their message to stake holders, suppliers
and customers. An introduction to digital photography
tools and solutions from a business viewpoint, how to
easily produce PowerPoint and other multimedia
presentations that wow your remote, live or web
audiences combined with multimedia demonstrations will
educate, inspire and entertain you.
