LATE Happy
Halloween!!
We hope you enjoy the
"macabre" photos and Halloween colours
in this issue and that you had a many
ghosts and goblins visit you. (A technical glitch delayed this email a few
days)
After a very busy summer wedding photography
season and many corporate photography and model
shoot projects, we were off to the Hawaiian
Islands (twice), Los Angeles and San Diego in the
last few weeks. Onroute, a visit to LA's
Getty Museum and San Diego's "Old Town" were
highighted by Dave's tour of the US Navy's
aircraft carrier USS Midway ("amazing" ...while
Anna shopped, of course). We will be visiting the
South Pacific Islands, New Zealand, Australia and
Bali in the new year so look forward some future
"Tales" of the South Pacific.
NOVEMBER PHOTO
CLASSES: For Vancouver, BC area photographers the last
of our digital photography classes this
season will be a NEW Point and Shoot Digital
Photography 2-evening class (for novices) at the
Ferry Building Gallery (West Vancouver) on Tues
Nov. 20 and Thurs. Nov. 22 (7-9:30pm;to register
call 604-925-7270), a full day Intermediate Levl 2
class at the Surrey Art Gallery on Sunday Nov. 18
((;30am04pm, to register
604-501-5100) and lastly, a 2-evening
Intermediate Digital Photography class at the
Kerrisdale Comminity Centre on Mondays Nov. 19
& 26. 7-9:30pm (to register call 604-257-8100;
their civic labour dispute is now over and this
class will run if enough people register)
FUTURE
CLASSES:To view our up to date class and lecture
schedule for the Winter 2007/early Spring 2008
season scroll down or click here. Classes have
been programmed for the Kerrisdale Community
Centre now that the civic labour strike is over.
Note that some early 2008 dates have been recently
changed.

Photo Albums
 A new way to share
your digital images is to use suppliers with
on line digital photo album services. By uploading your
selected images with easy to use templates, your images
are printed directly on to the album pages and you have
a one of a kind coffee table book delivered directly to
your doorstep in just a few days.
Most suppliers
provide templates and instructions for
free. Album cost is amazingly very
low! A hard cover book with 20 pages (40
sides printed) and about 100 images can cost as
little as $30.00 plus shipping (or less!!). Some
recommended suppliers:

light
Ancient alcchemists searched for the
philosophers' stone to turn lead into gold. The
philospphers' stone for photographers is LIGHT and its

photographer that understands light becomes

Once you become aware of the quality
of light in your scene you will become a fabulous
photographer! Important factors affecting light
are:

Remember that the human eye and
camera film or digital sensors do not always record the
same thing.
