David and Anna Smith love the people,
the light and colour of the Greek Islands and
Western Turkey. They have discovered and
rediscovered the magnificent scenic beauty of
the Mediterranean through their camera lens on
numerous trips. The Smith’s are returning to
Greece in the spring of 2007, this time leading
a tour for amateur and travel photography
enthusiasts. Their “focus” is on the endless
possibilities a digital camera can achieve while
enjoying the culture, sights and sounds of
Greece and the amazing area of Western Turkey.
David’s expertise in digital photography plus
the opportunity to catch the breathtaking sights
of this unique part of the world through the
eyes of a professional photographer will make
this tour picture perfect! Join Dave and Anna
for a fun filled, educational and visual
adventure. A local English speaking guide/escort
will accompany the group during transfers and
sightseeing tours.
For more information on this tour (oriented
to amateur & enthusiast point and shoot or

CORRECTING
EXPOSURE IN YOUR CAMERA
Many
digital cameras have exposure adjustment
and correction capabilities via a + or - EV
(Exposure Value) adjustment, normally a button to
press on the back of point and shoot camera
or a scroll wheel on a SLR
camera.
An adjustment of
+ 2 EV is same as overexposing by 2 f
stop, and so on. You can see the correction
in real time on the LCD screen of better
point and shoot cameras before pressing the
shutter and often the levels
histogram guides the shooter in exposing
for highlights, midtones and dark areas. Be
sure to avoid overexposing the highlights with
digital cameras. On some cameras, the
overexposed sections may give a flashing
warning.
An average scene should
have a histogram on the shape of a bell
curve.Pressing the info button
on many digital cameras while viewing images taken
will also provide the camera settings used and a
levels histogram. A quick look at the
histogram at the back of the camera may
prove more reliable than assessing good exposure
on the small image on a LCD screen in bright
light. Be sure to learn the basics of levels
histograms - an excellent tool for correcting
exposure in your camera.
